CE@WA Home School Program
2017-2018 Home School Enrollment:
Home School enrollment is available for the 2017-2018 school year. Families who desire to participate in the homeschool program with CE@WA must complete the online application and submit to the office. Upon submission of all required forms, the decision for acceptance will be made by CE@WA.
New Home School Families:
Please ensure that you provide all items on the enrollment document checklist shortly after your online application. The immunization record or exemption and any school transcripts must be presented as part of the enrollment materials. Enrollment will not be considered complete until all forms and documentation have been submitted, and all financial obligations are complete.
Returning Home School Families:
Current CE@WA home school families will be required to verify and update current online enrollment forms annually. Enrollment will not be considered complete until all forms have been submitted, and all financial obligations are complete.
CE@WA Handbook and Policies
Students who are enrolled as part of the homeschooling program with CE@WA are expected to follow the requirements listed in the CE@WA Handbook while on and off the campus. Any student who participates in a school-sponsored event (i.e., sports clubs, field trips, activities, and trips) is still a representative of CE@WA and must model and demonstrate the standards of moral conduct. Homeschool students are no exemption. Please read the handbook and ask any questions before you sign the agreement.
While on campus and on field trips, home school students are to be in school uniform. The registration and tuition fee will provide five uniform shirts for five days of school, a winter jacket with logo and a school approved bathing suit (extra shirts, pants, skirts, belts, shoes, and accessories are the parent’s responsibility.) CE@WA Home School provides support and a system of accountability for parents who desire to educate their children at home. Additional educational services and on-campus classes are also available for families wanting their students to participate in classes at the Academy. Whatever your interest or need, we will endeavor to provide you with excellent service to help you be effective in educating your student. Our goal is to assist you in the process of parent-directed education. Whether you are just beginning the journey, or you are an experienced veteran, it is our desire to partner with you each step of the way.
CE@WA’s home school program is designed to assist parents on all grade levels. Academic record keeping is essential to track student growth and development. CE@WA requires all families to demonstrate the academic progress that reflects a student’s grade level. End of year testing is available if desired.
The home school year is based on a minimum of 170 calendar days of school. Parents should be mindful of this when scheduling and completing courses in a timely manner. There will be a parent meeting with Ms. June to help facilitate communication, expectations, and any questions. While one parent/guardian is required to attend this meeting, it is beneficial to all parties if both parents/guardians can attend. Additional meetings will be held to assist you with your student’s progress as needed.
Students who graduate from CE@WA’s home school will be awarded a diploma. Students in grades 9 – 12 must accumulate credits in compliance with the qualifications offered at CE@WA. Curriculum choices should align with a rigor comparable to CE@WA classes. Mainstream publishers, home school curriculum, and FLVS match the difficulty of a CE@WA class. Please consult Ms. June should you have any questions about curriculum.
Monthly reports must be submitted online by the 5th of the month. On time, consistent reporting will help keep your son/daughter’s academic progress moving toward completion. If reports are not submitted by the 5th of the month, a $25 fee will be added to your school account. Each day after the 6th an additional $10 will be added to your school account. Students will be dropped from the CE@WA Home School Program if reports are not received before the 30th of each month. There will be a $50 reinstatement fee for students dropped due to late submission of reports. Please contact the office should you have problems with submitting this form online. All reports will be electronically date and time stamped upon submission. Click HERE to access the monthly report. Annual portfolios are due no later than May 1st. A $25 late fee will be assessed on all accounts that have not submitted the portfolio on or before the due date. The portfolio is a measurement of student progress and will be the property of the family. Portfolios should include copies of monthly reports, tests, quizzes, and work samples (at least ten throughout the year). Please contact the office should you have any problems with submitting this information.
